This tour explores the tranquil feudal lord gardens of Kagoshima. Travel by city bus to the Former Shimazu Tamasato Residence Garden. As you stroll through the tranquil space surrounded by ponds and bamboo groves, you'll learn about its history and highlights as a feudal lord garden. Afterward, you'll visit two shrines with ties to Kagoshima, where you'll receive an easy-to-understand explanation of shrine culture, including proper etiquette for worship, how to pass through the torii gates, how to purify your hands, and proper bowing. Enjoy a serene experience of worship while also learning about the sights and history of the grounds. This is a simple tour of the tourist attractions. [Note 1: <Regarding itinerary changes during the New Year holidays, etc.>> If the Former Shimazu Tamasato Residence Garden is closed for the New Year holidays or other reasons, the tour will be changed to a "Three Shrine Tour" of the southern area from the meeting point by train. Transportation will be by city tram, and the tour is expected to be approximately 30 minutes shorter than the regular tour, but it will still allow you to fully experience Kagoshima's shrine culture. ■ Note 2: <<Regarding the use of public transportation>> This tour uses city buses and trams. All bus and tram fares used during the tour are included in the tour price. If you wish to use public transportation to tour the city after the tour, we can provide you with a one-day pass, so please let us know in advance. ■ Note 3: <<Regarding insurance>> Please purchase insurance at your own discretion if necessary. Former Shimazu Tamazato Garden
The Tamasato Residence Garden of the Shimazu Clan is a tranquil feudal lord's garden laid out by the Shimazu family during the Edo period, and is a tranquil place with a pond, bamboo grove, and the remains of a teahouse. [New Year's Holiday Notice] The Tamasato Residence Garden of the Shimazu Clan will be closed during the New Year's holiday, so our first stop will be Umegabuchi Kannon-in Temple (Ishiki-cho, Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, 890-0003). This tranquil Kannon statue, beloved by the local community, will provide a brief explanation of Kannon worship and a guided tour of photo spots, all while enjoying the natural atmosphere.

Kagoshima Shrine
Ujise Daimyojin (Kagoshima Shrine) is one of the oldest shrines in Kagoshima, and its main deity is Emperor Ojin. It has long been worshipped as the guardian deity of the region. There is a large camphor tree on the grounds, and we will provide an easy-to-understand guide to Japanese shrine culture, including the proper etiquette for worship and how to use the water basin.

Kagoshima Gokoku Shrine
Kagoshima Prefectural Gokoku Shrine is a shrine dedicated to the heroic spirits associated with Kagoshima from the end of the Edo period to modern times, and is a place where you can feel the history of Kagoshima in a quiet and calm atmosphere. We will provide easy-to-understand guidance on how to worship and the highlights of the grounds. At this place, you can receive votive plaques, goshuin stamps, and omikuji fortune slips. (We also provide support for purchasing and filling out these if you wish.)
