This tropical beauty spot offers panoramic views of the city skyline and waterfront nature, adjacent to the Rainbow Beach promenade. This secluded yet well-maintained beach offers volcanic views, inflatable beach toys, and a stone-protected lagoon perfect for people of all ages to jump in and protect themselves from marine life. There are also some fun floating Sakurajima volcanic rocks available for you to throw into the water. Adjacent restrooms are available for you to use if you need to change. Tsukiyomi Shrine
What a spectacular sight to visit this 1,300-year-old shrine! The shrine was moved from its original location about 100 years ago after the Te volcano eruption, but this ancient shrine looks back on its Shinto roots and sells amulets and other wonderful Japanese shrine landmarks not far from our road! Enjoy this shrine and deepen your understanding of the ancient Japanese beliefs that continue to this day.

Astronomical museum
Now, we've had some nature, some time to explore downtown Kagoshima, some grounding, and some fun. A streetcar ride through the city offers a great chance to see the city in not just shade but AC! We've had a great day by this time, but the 30-minute ride back to the cruise port takes us through some historical spots and, if time permits, a stop at a sweets spot or souvenir shop.
1 hour • Includes admission ticket.
