    Sakurajima Ferry Terminal

    Enjoy a sea trip on the Sakurajima Ferry!

    Tsukiyomi Shrine

    Tsukiyomi Shrine boasts a history of 1,300 years. Feel the power of the shrine as it stands quietly within its grounds, surrounded by nature. It is located right next to Sakurajima Port, so be sure to visit if you come to Sakurajima.

    Sakurajima Visitor Center

    If you visit Sakurajima, we recommend stopping by the Sakurajima Visitor Center first. There are panel exhibits on records of past eruptions, the formation of the volcano, Sakurajima's vegetation, tourism, and disaster prevention activities. You can also learn about the lives of people on Sakurajima while looking at high-definition video and a model of the volcano.

    Sakurajima Lava Nagisa Park Footbath

    Within the park, there is one of Japan's largest foot baths, measuring 100 meters in length, where natural hot spring water springs from 1,000 meters underground. The terracotta-colored water contains iron. Why not soothe your travel fatigue in a foot bath while looking out at Kinko Bay in front of you and Sakurajima behind you?

    Sakurajima Akasuicho

    Sakurajima Pottery is pottery made using natural volcanic ash. In this program, you will paint a picture using the colorful ash from Sakurajima. It doesn't take long (minimum 20 minutes), so you can experience it in between sightseeing tours of Sakurajima. Your painting will be completed in no time, so you can take it home as a souvenir.

    Yunohira Observatory

    This observation deck is located at an altitude of 373m, at the 4th station of Sakurajima's northern peak. This is the highest point on Sakurajima that the public can enter. The rugged mountain surface of the southern peak and the smoking mountainside are very impressive. This is one of the must-see spots on Sakurajima.
