    Sakurajima Ferry Terminal

    This terminal is close to Kagoshima Port and serves as the gateway to Sakurajima. Both passengers and vehicles board here and can take a short ferry across the bay. You can transfer directly from the cruise port to the ferry by car (500 yen/person).

    Yunohira Observatory

    Located at an altitude of approximately 373m, this is Sakurajima's best access point. From here you can get a close-up view of the steep slopes of the active volcano, as well as a panoramic view of Kagoshima city and Kinko Bay.

    Arimura Observatory

    Located on the south side of Sakurajima, this observation deck stands in the middle of a vast lava field created by past eruptions. You can enjoy the dramatic contrast between the slopes of the active volcano and the steep lava layers and the blue waters of Kinko Bay. The promenade that runs through the lava field is an impressive spot where you can experience Sakurajima's volcanic power up close.

    Sakurajima Lava Beach Park

    Surrounded by lava rocks created by past eruptions, this scenic promenade stretches for about 3km along Sakurajima's coastline. The promenade offers impressive views of the volcano and Kinko Bay. At the end of your walk, you can relax for free in one of Japan's largest open-air natural hot spring foot baths, enjoying the sea breeze and mountain views.

    Senganen

    This historic Japanese garden was built in 1658 by the Shimazu clan, who ruled the Satsuma domain. With Sakurajima across Kinko Bay as a backdrop, the garden boasts a beautiful landscape featuring ponds, shrines, and traditional residences. Sengan-en, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a unique place where history, culture, and natural beauty blend together.
