Sakurajima, located approximately 10 kilometers across the sea from the center of Kagoshima City, is an active volcano that still emits smoke. Originally an island, Sakurajima became connected to the Kyushu mainland after an eruption about 110 years ago. Experience the heartbeat of the Earth on a sea kayak adventure. Embark on an epic journey across the vast lava fields from the surface of the ocean and gaze up at the majestic Sakurajima. Viewing Sakurajima from the water offers a unique and impressive perspective of its majestic form and vast lava formations.
