overview
Kagoshima is the southernmost prefecture in Japan, excluding Okinawa, and is therefore open to the south and west, and has long been open to cultures different from those overseas. This is why Kagoshima has nurtured a variety of unique cultures, and local artisans and craftsmen have preserved traditions for generations. On this tour, you'll visit the Satsuma Kiriko Glasswork Factory, a traditional glasswork factory dating back to the 1800s; Miyama Village, home of the world-famous Satsuma ware; and the local soy sauce shop, Sakura Kaneyo, where you'll sample not only soy sauce ice cream but also a variety of soy sauces! Get a glimpse of this unique culture without leaving Kagoshima!
